A commonly found household device for the rapid heating of substances knowingly containing liquids. Also used for cooking purposes. The warming of nourishing microwave snacks or meals courtesy of a major shopping chain (eg. Mums gone to Iceland) is usually the most popular activity. Has also been known to be used in the destruction of beautifully hand-crafted meals (see Hot Cheese sandwich suprise).
