Summer of 1997, The Glorious
A dark, mysterious, almost legendary chapter in the distant past that Dyn remembers every time he arrives on channel and observes that it hasn't changed back into the online utopia that so many delirious ex-channel members believe it once was; when #aber wasn't like what it is now and when Stuii was "only a minor character". In fact, the summer of 1997 was indeed "glorious", but not for these reasons. Instead, it heralded an end to the Two Year Maelstrom Of Misery that had plagued the channel since September 1995, where powerful beings locked horns daily and used innocent channel members as pawns and cannon fodder. Quite frequently these wars would extend into other mediums such as USENET and even real life. It truly is Not Like The Old Days, and for this we must be grateful.
