An affliction that illiudes the sufferer into considering an item of news not to be news anymore once they have heard it, even if most people have not yet heard of the news. Symptoms usually manifest themselves in the form of 'I heard that ages [hours] ago' or 'pah, that's old news'. A variant on the condition renders the sufferer incapable of believing any item of news that comes to light until it appears on their pager or by a text message on their mobile.
