Syndrome, Excessive Hardware

This is commonly suffered by computer science students (and wannabes thereof) who feel a compulsion to collect plethora of computer hardware, useful or otherwise, and talk about said hardware all the time to their mates. Aged unix workstations, terminals, networking gear, hard disks and monitors are but a few examples of what sufferes might hoard, even if it has little or no use whatsoever. Entire rooms are devoted to housing this hardware. When being asked why a sufferer has a particular item, they reply with 'because I can'. There is no known cure.
