Syndrome, Hellewell's Reverse Value
Born out of the rules of Eppanomics and often suffered by Eppaleptics, this obscure mathematics disorder condemns the sufferer to a life of abject poverty by removing their ability to tell whether one value is greater or less than another value. Examples of HRVS attacks include accepting the lower of two offers when selling second hand items, despite a huge difference between the offers; and, conversely, accepting a far greater interest rate on a loan than previously offered by another party. The afflicted have also been known to actually accept reductions in salary and wages, believing they've had a payrise. The only cure for this ailment is better financial planning, management and knowledge, which in some cases means there simply is no cure.
